I’m taking part in Million Makers, raising funds for The King's Trust.

The King's Trust believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed, no matter what their background or the challenges they are facing. The Prince's Trust NatWest Youth Index 2024 revealed that over a third (39%) of young people no longer feel in control of their future, with over a quarter (26%) feeling as though they are going to fail in life.

The courses offered by The Trust help young people aged 11-30 to develop essential life skills, get ready for work, access job opportunities and create a brighter future for themselves.

Get Ready to Enter the Den 🐉

Tuesday 17th Jun
This week we officially kick off Dragons Den - a pivotal moment in the Million Makers challenge.

Each team will be pitching their business plan to a panel of senior leaders - our very own Dragons - for up to £1,500 of seed funding. Our Dragons, successful leaders and experts from various industries, will bring their wealth of experience to the table. They will ask the critical questions - the feasibility, scalability, and sustainability of each fundraising activity. They are also there to offer invaluable feedback, and push teams to think critically about every aspect of their plan.

The Dragons' Den is also an incredible learning opportunity! The feedback provided will be invaluable for our Million Makers teams - it will help to ultimately strengthen your business plans to achieve your fundraising goals. 

Top Tips for a successful Dragons' Den Pitch

🙏 Practice makes perfect! Schedule an internal rehearsal - this is a fantastic opportunity for your team, mentors, and leadership team to provide feedback and support.

💰 Don't rush the finances! There are just as important as the idea itself.

💪 Utilise the team's strengths. You can divide the questions in the Q&A depending on who has the expertise in your team.

🕺Do not be afraid to show your personality! The Dragons want an insight into your team.

🎉 Remember to have fun! The teams that are most successful in Million Makers always work together and enjoy the experience.
