82% Complete: Somehow, I’ve Still Found Time to Walk!

It’s been a rather busy few weeks, so I’m honestly quite impressed that the miles have kept ticking over!

Since my last update, life has revolved around my daughter’s 3rd birthday, which meant:

🎂 1 very special 3rd birthday
🎉 2 birthday parties
🏰 1 bouncy castle
🐄 1 day out at Brimstage Farm
🎶 1 night at Wythenshawe Park watching The Cure

💚 And quite a lot of walking in between!

I’m also currently off work until 3rd September, so there’s been plenty of family time, birthday celebrations and keeping a newly-three-year-old entertained. Somehow, amongst all of that, I’ve managed to rack up some serious miles.

👣 The numbers
I’m now at:

49.78 miles completed
10.22 miles remaining
82% complete! 🎉

That means I’ve got just over 10 miles left of my 60-mile challenge.

This challenge is all part of our Million Makers campaign, raising money for The King’s Trust, so every mile is helping me work towards something much bigger than simply completing a virtual challenge.

🦴 55% Complete: The Miles Are Adding Up!

My Corpse Bride challenge is officially over halfway complete! 

When I started this challenge, 60 miles sounded like a pretty big target. But the miles have been steadily ticking over, and I’ve now reached 33.48 miles, leaving just 26.52 miles to go.

Since my last update, I’ve added 24.39 miles. And this time there’s no exciting trip or big event to blame for the step count. It’s simply been the result of getting out and walking as part of everyday life.

It’s actually been quite satisfying watching those ordinary walks add up. A few extra steps here, a longer walk there, and suddenly another few miles have disappeared from the challenge.

👣 The halfway point!

I’m now:

33.48 miles completed
26.52 miles remaining
55% complete

That means I’ve officially passed the halfway mark, and the finish line is starting to look a lot less ghostly! 👻

I’m taking on the 60-mile challenge as part of our Million Makers campaign, raising money for The King’s Trust.

The walking is the personal challenge, but the fundraising is the bit that really matters. The money we raise will help support The King’s Trust and the young people they work with, so every mile is ultimately part of something much bigger.

Now I just need to keep putting one foot in front of the other...

Every Mile Counts: My Corpse Bride Challenge Update

I’ve officially started my 60-mile Corpse Bride challenge with The Conqueror, and I’m already 9.09 miles in, with 50.91 miles still to go! 

I decided to take on the challenge as part of our Million Makers fundraising campaign, raising money for The King’s Trust. It seemed like a fun way to turn something I already enjoy doing, getting out and about and walking, into something that could help make a difference.

🌊 Kicking things off in Llandudno
The challenge got a particularly lovely start thanks to a family trip to Llandudno.

Llandudno has been a special place for our family for years. We've visited many times over the years, so there are plenty of memories attached to it. But this trip was a little different because it was the first time I've taken my own daughter, who is nearly three, to Llandudno.
Watching her explore somewhere that has been part of our family's story for so long made the trip feel even more special.

And, as it turns out, a nearly-three-year-old is an excellent walking companion!
 Between exploring, wandering around and generally seeing everything Llandudno had to offer, we managed to clock up plenty of steps.
It was the perfect way to kick-start my challenge without it feeling like I was deliberately trying to rack up miles. We were simply enjoying a family day out, and the miles followed.

💚 9.09 miles down...
I'm now 15% of the way there, with 9.09 miles completed and 50.91 miles remaining.

There are still plenty of miles ahead, but having got the challenge underway has definitely given me the motivation to keep going.

And there's something quite nice about knowing that every ordinary walk, family day out and mile I manage to squeeze in can contribute towards something bigger.

I'm taking on the 60 miles to help raise money for The King's Trust, supporting our wider Million Makers campaign.
So, one step at a time, I'm making my way through the challenge.

 Every mile represents an opportunity to help young people build brighter futures through employment, education and enterprise.

The King's Trust supports thousands of young people each year, giving them the confidence, skills and opportunities they need to succeed. Whether you can donate £2 or £20, every contribution helps us get closer to our fundraising goal and makes a real difference.

Welcome to Million Makers

I'm excited to be taking part in Million Makers, The King's Trust's entrepreneurial fundraising challenge that brings teams together to turn a small investment into as much money as possible for a truly worthwhile cause.

Over the coming months, our team will be using creativity, collaboration, and a bit of entrepreneurial spirit to raise as much as we can. Every pound raised will help The King's Trust continue its vital work supporting young people facing barriers to education, employment, and training, giving them the confidence, skills, and opportunities they need to build a brighter future.
