A breakfast with a difference
By holding a Brilliant Breakfast to Change a Girl’s Life, you can give young women a working future through training courses with potential employers, access to job opportunities and support with practice interviews.
You can also help fund grants to cover the costs of work clothes, childcare, equipment or even a young woman’s commute to work before her first paycheque.
Or you can provide funding for impactful programmes in schools with young women at risk of dropping out – building their skills and confidence for the future.
Through the training courses and employment opportunities offered by The King’s Trust and supporters like you, Change a Girl’s Life can give these young women a future that works for them.
How your fundraising will Change a Girl's Life
Today, over a million young people aged 16-24 are not in education, work or training. For too many this causes feelings of isolation, poor mental health and a loss of confidence. For some, they face practical challenges of poverty and a lack of opportunity.
The situation is often worse for young women. Our research shows that young women are more likely than young men to feel hopeless about their futures. Many also fear that they will never be financially secure due to the cost-of-living crisis. Even if they are in work, caring for someone or paying for childcare means many are forced to give up their jobs, or slow down their careers.
Founder of The Brilliant Breakfast
Annoushka Ducas MBE
Annoushka is a jewellery designer, creative director and entrepreneur who founded British jewellery companies Links of London and Annoushka. She is a keen supporter of fostering female talent in business and is a Patron of the Women Supporting Women initiative for The King’s Trust.
Annoushka developed the concept of a nationwide breakfast event to raise awareness and funding for The King's Trust after recognising how many young women, particularly those with disadvantaged backgrounds, need a lifeline to support them into education and employment, further exacerbated by the challenges caused by Covid and the cost of living crisis.
"We’re thrilled to have raised over £2 million for the King’s Trust, empowering over 2,000 young women to gain the confidence and skills they need to thrive in work, education and beyond. This is just the beginning! We’re committed to collaborating with partners across the UK to uplift vulnerable young women and help them unlock their potential. Together, we can create brighter futures."
