Registration and Preparing to Host your Brilliant Breakfast

Who can take part?

Anyone and everyone can host a Brilliant Breakfast and you can invite whoever you like! Friends, family, colleagues or clients - everyone is welcome. All you need to do is choose the location, send your invites and start planning!

Where do I host my Brilliant Breakfast?

In your work canteen, at your kitchen table, online with your colleagues in other parts of the country or even in the park with your fellow dog walkers... whatever suits you best!

What dates can I host my Brilliant Breakfast?

We would love you to host your breakfast in March 2025 because it's International Women's Day on 8th March 2025, so it's a great time to host and show your support for young women. However, if you need to host your breakfast at another time, that's fine too!

How do I register to host a Brilliant Breakfast?

You can sign up to host on our registration page or by clicking any of the 'register now' buttons and leaving us a few details. An online fundraising page will be created automatically as part of your registration. 

What happens after I register to host a Brilliant Breakfast?

Once you have registered you will receive an email with a link to your online fundraising page. You can log in at any time to update your page, download invites, posters and other materials you may need to make your Brilliant Breakfast the best it can be. If you are struggling to find your page then please contact us at brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk.

How do I host a Brilliant Breakfast?

Your breakfast can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish - it's all about getting together and raising funds for The King's Trust to change the lives of young women. Put simply, host your Brilliant Breakfast and encourage your guests to donate! 

How do I create my fundraising page?

When you register to take part in The Brilliant Breakfast an online fundraising page is created for you automatically. You will receive an email as soon as you have signed up with a link to this page. If you can’t find it or need some help with your page then please do contact us at brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk and our organisation will help.

What do I have to do for my Brilliant Breakfast?

Once you've decided where you’re going to host your breakfast and invited your guests, you just need to decide what your breakfast menu will be. Whether you're hosting at home or work, you can make breakfast as simple or as elaborate as you wish – from toast and a cup of tea to croissants and pastries from your local bakery, anything goes! Some hosts even work with local cafes to host their Brilliant Breakfast, particularly if there are lots of guests attending.  

For any guests that you invite and are unable to make it on the day, it’s worth sharing your online page with them as they may still want to support you by donating.

Will I receive a pack?

You won’t receive anything in the post from us but there will be lots of materials that you can print yourself such as invites, posters, bunting and food flags. You can access these by logging on to your Funraisin account. You will have a received a link to this after you signed up. If you are struggling to find your page then please contact us at brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk. 

Is there a How to Host guide?

Yes – we have a guide for hosting both at home and in the workplace. You can find both of these by logging on to your Funrasin account. Will you give advice on how to fundraise?

We are here to help you fundraise every step of the way. We will support you by including fundraising tips and ideas in our emails to you, so look out for them landing in your inbox.

Will I receive regular emails from The King's Trust?

Yes, in the lead up to and throughout your challenge, we will be in contact with updates, tips and advice so please make sure to read the emails. If you aren't receiving them, check your spam folder or get in touch with us on brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk

I can't find my sign-up email, what has happened to it?

Please check your spam or junk email folders in case it's arrived there.    

If you still can't find the email or would just like to check that your registration has been received, please email brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk.   

 

Can I fundraise using another online provider?

When registering for the event, a fundraising page will automatically be set up for you. We recommend you use this platform as your page will link through to the overall fundraising total and give you access to additional materials to help you host your breakfast.  

We know that you may have to use another platform due to your workplace policy or to gain match-funding. If that’s the case, just let us know by emailing brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk.

Why are my donations not showing?

There is a short delay in donations pulling through to the page. If donations aren’t showing within 24 hours, please let us know by emailing brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk.

Why is my self-donation not showing on my dashboard?

Donations in the 'My Donations' section of your dashboard are just those from your supporters. If you have made a self-donation, it will only show on your fundraising page but will still count towards your total. 

Fundraising and QR Codes

Is there a minimum donation?

No. Everyone is welcome to join in with The Brilliant Breakfast and all donations, however small, will make a difference to young women.

Where do donations to The Brilliant Breakfast go?

The funds you raise for The King’s Trust can give young women a working future through training courses with potential employers, access to job opportunities and support with practice interviews. 

How do I fundraise?

Share your fundraising page when inviting your guests so that they can donate before coming to your Brilliant Breakfast. You never know, those who can’t attend may still donate! If guests want to donate on the day, you can easily share the link to your page or have a print out a poster with your bespoke QR code that links to your fundraising page. You can do this by logging in to your Funraisin account. You will have had a link to this in an email that was sent to you when you first signed up. If you are struggling to find your page then please contact us at brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk.

How do I share my fundraising page?

You can share your page in lots of different ways, from social media such as facebook and instagram, sharing a link in whatsapp and emails or by creating a poster with a bespoke QR code to your page. You can do this by accessing your Funraisin account. You will have been sent an email when you first registered with the details to your account. How do I edit my fundraising page?

Log in to your Funraisin account. You will have received an email when you first signed up with all the details. If you are struggling to find your account details then please contact us at brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk. Click on your name in the top right corner of the screen and then click on ‘Edit my page’. 

I've lost the link to my online fundraising page. How can I find it?

When you first registered you will have been sent an email with your page details. If you can’t find it then you can try logging in at The King's Trust : Fundraiser Dashboard (kingstrust.org.uk). If you’d like our organisation to help, please contact us at brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk.

How do I create a QR code for my online fundraising page?

You can create a poster with your bespoke QR code on it by accessing your Funraisin account. You will have been sent an email when you first registered with the details to your account. If you are struggling to find your page then please contact us at brilliantbreakfast@kingstrust.org.uk.

My guests want to donate by cheque. Where do I send this?

Please make any cheques payable to 'The Prince's Trust' and write 'The Brilliant Breakfast' on the back. Send to:

How do I handle cash donations from my guests?

We suggest you pay any cash donations into your own bank account and donate the amount to your fundraising page. This way it adds to your total and we can celebrate how much you've raised. 

I can't host this year but would still like to donate, is this possible?

Yes, click here to donate to The Brilliant Breakfast without registering as a host. 

One of my guests is unable to attend but would still like to donate. How do they do this?

Send them the link to your Brilliant Breakfast fundraising page so they can donate. 

Can I tick the Gift Aid box when donating or adding cash donations?

Only personal donations are eligible for Gift Aid. If you're paying on behalf of someone else, a group of people, a company or have had a chance to win a prize, this amount is not eligible for Gift Aid. You can read all about Gift Aid here. 

On the Day

Is there a video I can show my guests to tell them more about The Brilliant Breakfast and The King's Trust?

Yes, there are links to videos within the dashboard of your online fundraising account. You can play this at your breakfast or even send a link to your guests in advance as a handy reminder, whilst also letting them know a bit more about The Brilliant Breakfast and the work of The King's Trust.

Can I share my Brilliant Breakfast on social media?

Absolutely! Please share your Brilliant Breakfast photos and stories on your social channels, tagging @TheKingsTrust on Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn including #TheBrilliantBreakfast. You can find social posts to share in your Host Pack, just make sure that you select the right one for hosting at home or work! 

Merchandise

Can I purchase Brilliant Breakfast merchandise?

You can also use one of the templates available in your Host Pack to make your own food flags and bunting.

Organisations

If you are hositng multiple breakfasts at one organisations can I link these together to get one team total?

Yes, during registration you will be asked whether you are hosting with colleagues and if you would like to create or join an organisation.  

Only one person should create the organisation, and they will automatically be made Organisation Captain. If your organisation has already been created you should see the name in the drop down list. If it's not showing in the dropdown list then it may be set to private; your organisation captain can change this in their settings.
