I'm cycling 50 miles on Sunday 4 October to change young lives!

At the start of October, I’ll be travelling from Sheffield to London to take part in Palace to Palace on 4th October, cycling 50 miles from Buckingham Palace to raise funds for The King’s Trust.

The King’s Trust provides tailored programmes and long-term support to help young people build practical skills, confidence, and emotional resilience so they can create positive futures for themselves.

Following the cost of living crisis and the lasting impact of the pandemic on education, employment, and wellbeing, almost one million young people in the UK are currently not in work, education, or training.

This is a cause that matters personally to me. Growing up, I was fortunate to be surrounded by a loving and supportive family and to experience opportunities that broadened my perspective on the world. Those experiences helped shape the direction my life has taken, and they also made me aware that many young people simply don’t start with the same support, stability, or opportunities.

The King’s Trust works to help bridge that gap — supporting young people who may otherwise be overlooked and helping them gain the confidence and skills needed to move forward.

If you are able to support the ride, any donation would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Another Ride Ticked Off

Monday 27th Jul
The weather continues to be great, which is great news for getting out. This ride, whist not anything close to the 50 miles of the Palace to Palace ride made up for the lack of distance with some significant elevation gains, including gradients of 10%.

Total distance: 35km. Elevation gain: 790m.

Long Days in the Saddle Bike Packing

Monday 6th Jul
I've just got back from a bike packing trip which took me to the Scottish borders on a loaded up bike through quiet winding country lanes. Whilst it is likely to be very different to the hussle and bussle of London traffic, this trip has offered another opportunity to get some decent time in the saddle and miles in the legs!

Preparation is Under Way

Thursday 25th Jun

Ticked off another training ride this weekend as I continue getting ready for the Palace to Palace event this October.

The distance wasn't quite as far as the challenge will be, but it was a good day in the saddle and a chance to build a few more miles into the legs. The route took me through Clumber Park, where I stopped for a quick photo at what looks a bit like something of a palatial entrance (sadly, no dragons were spotted).

Plenty more training to come, but it's another step in the right direction. Thanks to everyone who's supporting the fundraising effort!
