This October, we’ll be travelling to London to take part in Palace to Palace, cycling 50 miles / 80 km from Buckingham Palace in support of The King’s Trust.

Despite working in different departments and locations, this ride is a reminder that even across teams, and distance, it’s still possible to come together to support causes that matter.

The King’s Trust helps young people across the UK build confidence, develop practical skills, and access opportunities that can transform their futures. At a time when almost one million young people are not currently in work, education, or training, the charity’s work has never felt more important.

While our personal motivations for taking part are different, they are rooted in a shared sense of gratitude for the people and opportunities that have shaped our lives. Growing up, we were both fortunate to have support from family, mentors, colleagues, and friends who invested time, encouragement, and belief in us. Those experiences helped shape who we are today, while also making us aware that not everyone begins life with the same opportunities, stability, or support network.

By the time the ride takes place, cycling will be familiar territory for both of us(!). However, this event is about far more than the miles themselves. It’s about helping The King’s Trust continue opening doors for young people who deserve the chance to build positive futures of their own.
