Charity Egg Drop Details
THE CHALLENGE
Protect a medium chicken egg from a fall of 9m, dropped from a balcony over looking the Derwent Canteen
The winning device shall:
1. Prevent the egg from breaking
2. Gain extra points for the fastest fall time and the lightest weight design
(Plus a bonus prize for the best looking device!)
To enter the competition please donate £5 to this page (including your name + Egg Drop in the donation title)
THE RULES
Eggs will be provided on the day, there will be a maximum of 5 minutes allocated to insert the egg into the device and prepare for the drop. The egg must also be safely retrieved by the designer for inspection of safe landing after the drop. There are no restrictions on how you design your device - let your creativity run wild - however operational health and safety should be considered as part of the design.
THE DETAILS
The competition will take place at 10amTue 24th February in Derwent next to the innovation area. All eggs drops and egg retrieval will be managed by the event team to comply with our risk assessment.

Eggcelent drop, I had a cracking time and was super eggcited. The event was all it was cracked up to be. Unfortunately I was walking on egg shells with my design and therefore my drop made a quick eggsit from winning, but 10/10 for team effort!
