Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
What is The CEO Challenge?
The King's Trust CEO Challenge is a unique event in our 50th anniversary calendar. We are asking CEOs and business leaders to become a team and take on a challenge - with a shared vision of ending youth unemployment.
The challenge details are in development, but we know that we'll be stepping away from the boardroom and into the wild, in the Scottish Highlands, and focusing as a team on the resilience and courage young people show today.
Our team of leaders will be raising significant funds as they take on the challenge, that will enable The King's Trust continue their vision in ending youth unemployment.
How do I register?
When registering for the the CEO Challenge, a profile and fundraising page will automatically be created for you, using the information you provide.
Your registration is complete once you are taken to view your dashboard and fundraising page.
Is there a registration fee?
There is a fee to take part in the CEO Challenge. We estimate that the fee will be roughly £2,950 per person, which will cover all costs once you've arrived on site for the challenge. This does not have to be paid as part of the registration process. The final fee amount will be confirmed in the coming months, and will be communicated with those who have registered.
The fee ensures that costs are covered, and that funds raised by participants can be spent on providing support and opportunities to young people across the UK.
Is this challenge accessible for all?
Our event partner will also look at ways of adapting challenges and activities where necessary, based on accesibility.
Where can I get more information about the challenge?
Fundraising
How do I set up a fundraising page?
When you register for the CEO Challenge, a fundraising page will be automatically set up for you. It will be linked to the event so your fundraising activity will pull through to the overall fundraising total.
You will be sent an email with a link to your fundraising page so you can share it far and wide, and keep track of your progress.
How much do I need to raise?
We are aiming for a collective total of £500,000 from this event. We're encouraging all participants to go big and aim for £20,000+.
Raising £20,000 could run a 'Get Hired' event, connecting 20 young people with employers and jobs.
Can I fundraise using another online provider?
When registering for the event, a fundraising page will automatically be set up for you. We recommend you use this platform as your page will link through to the overall fundraising total.
We know that you may have to use another platform due to your workplace policy or to gain match-funding. If that’s the case, just let us know by emailing laura.heaton@kingstrust.org.uk.
What if I fundraise offline?
Your online fundraising page is the quickest and easiest way to fundraise. Any donations will be automatically transferred to The King's Trust so you don't have to do anything. You can also add Gift Aid to help boost your fundraising.
You can fundraise offline if you prefer, but please do let us know by emailing laura.heaton@kingstrust.org.uk so we can ensure that we recognise your fundraising efforts.
Will you give advice on how to fundraise?
Why is my self-donation not showing on my dashboard?
Donations in the 'My Donations' section of your dashboard are just those from your supporters. If you have made a self-donation, it will only show on your fundraising page but will still count towards your total.
Why are my donations not showing on my fundraising page?
There is a short delay in donations pulling through to the page. If donations aren’t showing within 24 hours, please let us know.
