Challenge Itinerary

THE MISSION

Ready for an unforgettable adventure? The King's Trust CEO Challenge will test your endurance, resillience and leadership, as well as inspire new connections, and leave you with stories you'll be sharing for years to come.

The challenge itinerary may be physical, and push you out of your comfort zone; but as a team, your real mission will be to leave lasting impact and raise significant funds. From start to finish, our leaders will be inspired by the journey young people take with The King's Trust's support.

THE START LINE

You will be asked to arrive at either Aberdeen or Inverness Airport on Tuesday 15th September 2026 by 12.00 noon. As a team, you will then be transported from the meeting point, to the start line of the challenge.

DAY 1: From the boardroom

After meeting in Scotland, you will be dropped into the wilderness, working as a team to navigate your way across rugged mountain terrain to your remote wilderness camp.

In the evening, you will hear about the challenge ahead, as well as the challenge facing young people across the UK.

DAY 2: Into the wild

At dawn, Mission Highlands will begin. Embark on a day long challenge that demands endurance, mental strength, and collaboration. You’ll take on river crossings, gully traverses, abseiling and mountain rescue scenarios ensuring no team member is left behind.

Every challenge mirrors the journey of the young people supported by The King’s Trust – fearing the unknown, navigating uncertainty, finding a path forward, and proving that with the right support, your goals can be achieved.

By nightfall, sat around the campfire, you won’t have just conquered the Highlands – you'll have deepened your resolve to help end youth unemployment and become united for the next generation.

DAY 3: Leading the way

Test your mindset by plunging into icy highland waters, followed by an epic bike ride through the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands, following remote gravel trails from the wilderness camp to an iconic finish line location. A final test of determination to keep following the path ahead and make it to your destination.

THE FINISH LINE

After a transformational journey, the team will cross the finish line and enjoy a celebration fit for those who share the same vision as The King. After the celebration, participants will be transported back to Inverness or Aberdeen airport, for their onward travel.

THE EXPERIENCE

BASE CAMP

On day one, you’ll work as a team to reach your remote wilderness camp. You’ll spend two nights under the stars at a fully equipped basecamp with tents, toilets, showers, and catering provided. All camping equipment will be supplied and set up for you. Closer to the challenge, we’ll share a comprehensive kit list to ensure you’re fully prepared.

BECOMING A TEAM

From the moment you register to the end of the challenge, The King’s Trust will guide your team on an inspiring journey. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to connect with eachother, celebrate the organisation’s 50th anniversary, and deepen your understanding of the life-changing work The King’s Trust delivers. By the time the challenge is complete, your team will not only have raised an incredible amount but will also know exactly how those efforts will transform young lives.

ACCESSIBILITY AND SUPPORT

This challenge is designed to be accessible for people with a wide range of fitness levels, backgrounds, and experience. You don’t need prior adventure experience or peak fitness to take part — what matters most is teamwork, communication, and a willingness to get involved.

Everyone will be supported throughout the challenge by experienced challenge leaders, with a carefully planned route, clear daily objectives, and a strong focus on safety and wellbeing. The challenge is structured to be achievable and flexible, allowing everyone to move at a steady pace and support one another along the way.

We recognise that everyone is different. We’re committed to making the challenge as inclusive as possible and are happy to discuss individual accessibility needs or reasonable adjustments in advance. Full pre‑challenge information and kit advice will be provided so participants know exactly what to expect and can prepare comfortably ahead of time.
