We're taking part in Million Makers, raising funds for The King’s Trust.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority STEM Team is proud to be supporting both the King's Trust Million Makers 20th Anniversary and the King's Trust's 50th anniversary through a unique fundraising challenge this autumn.
On 8 October 2026, teams from across the aviation sector will come together at Oxford Airport to take part in "Pulling a Plane for a Purpose". The challenge? Pull a 20 to 40 tonne aircraft over a distance of 60 metres as quickly as possible.
Teams will be competing against the clock, with the fastest team earning the title, some well-deserved bragging rights, and the satisfaction of supporting a fantastic cause.
Why are we taking part?
The event has three key objectives:
Raise funds for The King's Trust through the Million Makers initiative.
Increase awareness of the aviation industry's impact, opportunities and contribution to society.
Celebrate and strengthen collaboration across the aviation sector.
Supporting Young People to Thrive
For 50 years, The King's Trust has helped young people facing barriers to education, employment and training. Through mentoring, skills development, training opportunities and practical support, the charity empowers young people to build confidence, gain valuable experience and create brighter futures.
