Beyond 10,000 Steps - Future Steps 2026

This year I’m taking part in my first Future Steps 2026, a walking challenge in support of The King’s Trust, with two clear goals: to raise as much money as possible and to finish with the highest total step count within WOSG.

The baseline for the challenge is 10,000 steps a day. That’s where I start, not where I stop.

To keep this meaningful and to directly link fundraising with effort, I’m running the challenge on an escalation model. As fundraising milestones are reached, my daily step target increases. In other words, every donation quite literally makes the challenge harder.

I’ll be tracking my steps daily and sharing progress throughout each week so there’s full transparency. The aim is consistency first, then pushing beyond the minimum wherever possible.

How the step escalation works

As the total amount raised increases, my daily step minimum target will rise as follows:

  • £0–£49 → 10,000 steps per day

  • £50 → 12,500 steps per day

  • £100 → 15,000 steps per day

  • £150 → 17,500 steps per day

  • £200 → 20,000 steps per day

  • £250 → 22,500 steps per day

  • £300 → 25,000 steps per day

The end goal is to finish the challenge having covered the maximum distance possible, while unlocking every step tier along the way.

Any support through donations, encouragement, or a bit of friendly competition, is genuinely appreciated! Every contribution pushes the challenge further and helps The King’s Trust continue its work supporting young people into education, employment, and business opportunities.

Thanks for reading and hope you consider donating to support my journey!

Day 4 Update – Strong Start, Bigger Steps

Wednesday 4th Feb

Wow what a start! I did not expect to see this level of support this early in the fundraiser. Genuinely thank you to everyone who's donated and shared this page already.

My intention with taking part in the Future Steps fundraiser was to go beyond the 10,000 minimum steps from day one. Aiming for around 15,000 steps per day to prepare me once the milestones were eventually reached...

Well 4 days in and we've now passed the £100 milestone, which officially increases the daily challenge to 15,000 steps per day. This is going to be tough for the next week as I adjust, but having the early support has been very motivating.

Will keep pushing myself each day to reach this. Let's see how many total steps we end up with by the months end!

Thank you again all!
