I'm cycling miles to change young lives from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle

On Sunday 5 October, I will be taking part in Palace to Palace and cycling 45 or 90 miles from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle and raising fund for the King’s Trust.

The King's Trust has tailored programmes and provides long-term support give young people the practical skills and emotional resilience to pick themselves back up and create their own positive futures.

Following a cost of living crisis and pandemic which impacted their education, early careers and wellbeing, there are now almost 1 million young people not currently in work, education or training.

Please help me to support The King's Trust by sponsoring my Palace to Palace cycle ride and sharing my page. Just a £20 donation could provide one young person with an inspiring two hours of work experience in a stable job in a thriving sector

Go big or go home

Tuesday 12th Aug
I could have done the 45 mile ride with everyone else and had a lovely day doing the sport I love with people I like all for a good cause.  Indeed that was the plan, but at the last moment when asked my distance I just felt I had to challenge myself.  If you are going to raise money for charity folk like to know you have put so effort in.  As a club cyclist 45 miles for me is a normal sunday club ride and so the 90 miles and the Surrey hills call to me.  That is a challenge, I recall the excited joy leaving the Mall and the ride through Richmond Park, and then the slog through the Surrey hills.  Last time I a friend doing the 90, it was his longest ride at that time and whilst the banter fell away with the miles the encouragement you get from sharing the experience can't be under estimated.
Anyway the deal is done, and the 12 structured training is weeks past when I should have started.  The thing that will drive me on is knowing the donations I have been given for the challenge I have accepted and the good that will result.
