My Updates
I'm walking half a marathon on Sunday 4 October to change young lives!
Wednesday 9th SepFinding work is hard, it's even harder when you don't have experience behind you to give you the confidence needed to get a job or even know where to start. Right now, nearly a million young people in the UK are out of work and The King's Trust is working hard to help change that.
When entering the workforce I remember how degrading it was applying for multiple jobs and feeling lucky to even get a call back. When I finally managed to land a job it felt amazing. It was tough then, it's even tougher now, especially when there are fewer and fewer entry-level jobs.
I want to help tackle this and pay it forward, to support not just young people but, if we're honest, the future of our country. As Whitney Houston once sang, “I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way 🎶”.
To do this I'm taking part in Palace to Palace. The aim, to complete a half marathon walk across London and with your help raise funds for The King's Trust to support young people get into work.
Just in case you didn't know, The King's Trust (formerly known as The Prince's Trust) is a youth charity that provides long-term support and programmes aimed at transforming the lives of young people across the UK. Every pound raised will go towards breaking down barriers, opening doors and providing support for young people to build the confidence and skills they need to find work.
So my goal is simple, to raise a minimum of £150 for The King's Trust. To do that I need your help. A donation of £25 could cover the cost of travel for an isolated young person to attend a week long King’s Trust course. I believe in this cause and because of that I'm starting the process by sponsoring myself for £25. But as I said, every pound helps, please donate what you are comfortable and able to.
Thanks for taking the time reading this and for any support you're able to give.
