I'm cycling miles on Sunday 4 October to change young lives!

At a time where almost a million young people in the UK are out of work, The King’s Trust are committed to ending youth unemployment, and I’m doing my part by taking on Palace to Palace! I’ve challenged myself to cycle 50/100 miles across London and raise funds to help young people get into work.

The King's Trust (formerly known as The Prince’s Trust) is a youth charity providing long-term support and tailored programmes that empower young people across the UK to transform their lives. Every penny raised will help break down barriers, open doors and support young people to build the confidence and skills they need to find work.

Please help me support The King's Trust by sponsoring my Palace to Palace challenge and sharing my page to double the impact. A donation of £26 could cover the cost of travel for an isolated young person to attend a one-week King’s Trust course, helping them build vital skills and gain valuable work experience.

My Updates

One Month to Go: Palace to Palace

Wednesday 2nd Sep

There’s now only a month to go until I take on the King’s Trust Palace to Palace ride, and I now remember100 miles is a bloody long way on a bike!

Training has been ticking along, with around 50–60 miles a week at the moment. The fitness is definitely improving, although I’m still struggling when it comes to hills. I’m hoping that’s something I can work on over the next few weeks because there are plenty of them between me and that finish line.

The biggest challenge so far has probably been finding the time to get the miles in. Life, work and everything else have a habit of getting in the way, so fitting the longer rides around everything isn’t always easy.

I’m aiming to finish inside seven hours, which means I’ll need to keep a decent pace for a very long time. Whether that target is realistic remains to be seen!

I’m doing the ride mainly as a personal challenge and to improve my fitness, but knowing it’s raising money for the King’s Trust gives me an extra reason to keep pedalling when the legs start complaining.

One month to go. More miles to do. And apparently, I need to learn how to ride up hills!
