I'm doing a thing!
I've always raised an eyebrow when people did these charity events - sure, it's a good cause, but it also felt a bit like "hey look at me, am I not cool I'm doing a thing" - but I guess I've gotta do the same now.
I'm doing a thing!
I’m taking on the Palace to Palace cycle ride to support The King’s Trust (formerly The Prince's Trust). Right now, almost a million young people in the UK are out of work, and the Trust does incredible work breaking down barriers and helping them gain the confidence and skills to find jobs.
I've always loved cycling, and I thought it would be a good challenge to try and cycle 100km - my longest ever ride was close, about 70km, so this would be a piece of cake. Only after signing up I realised this is a 100 mile long route - but hey, I guess that's a 60% extra challenge!
I really think this is something everyone can donate - look at it this way:
- if you like me, you're supporting a great cause;
- if you hate me, you're directly funding 8 to 9 straight hours of pedalling and pain;
- if you don't care about me, but just want to do some good, a donation of £26 covers the transport costs for an isolated young person to attend a life-changing, one-week King’s Trust course
Every penny helps open doors for someone who needs a break. Please donate, share the page, and wish my legs luck.
