Me VS 10,000 steps

At a time when 900,000 young people in the UK are out of work – enough to form the UK’s third biggest city! The King’s Trust are committed to ending youth unemployment, and I’m doing my bit to support.

I am taking on the Future Steps challenge – completing 10,000 steps a day throughout February and raising vital funds to support young people across the UK.

A donation of just £12 could fund a call to The King's Trust helpline, enabling a young person facing adversity to gain the critical advice they need.

Every penny raised will help break down barriers, open doors and support young people to build the confidence and skills they need to find work. Please consider donating to my page.

Thank you.

My Updates

Ready for the final week

Sunday 22nd Feb
Back in the UK and at work, I’ve left the sunshine that came out for my last few days in Portugal behind. The good weather and fantastic scenery made all the difference to my walking: it was much easier to hit the daily step target. But I have a plan for this final week! If it rains, I’m resorting to the treadmill and the wonderful Gardens Illustrated podcast ‘Talking Gardens’ - a real inspiration as we get ready for Spring in the UK. With more young people turning to horticulture as a potential career, it’s timely in other ways too!

Stepping out in portugal

Monday 16th Feb
It turns out that it’s much easier to hit 10k steps a day when I’m not working! and it’s even easier at the wonderful Juicy Oasis in Portugal, where every day includes a hike, three yoga sessions, fitness, rebounding, volleyball and pickleball with a lovely group of people. I’m so grateful to be here, especially given the devastation caused by the storms last week.

My favourite footwear

Saturday 7th Feb
February is turning out to be very wet, and my favourite footwear has risen to the challenge of getting my steps in through endless mud! Not Manolo Blahnik or Christian Louboutin, but my rugged Hunter wellies. Here they are in action today. KBO!

Fit February

Sunday 1st Feb
After a less dry January than planned, I’m taking the opportunity offered by the King’s Trust to help others while I help myself this month. I hope you will help too! Thanks x
