I'm walking miles to change young lives

On Sunday 5th October, I will be taking part in The Palace Walk. I will be walking 13.1 miles around Windsor to help young people create a better future for themselves.

The King's Trust has tailored programmes and provides long-term support give young people the practical skills and emotional resilience to pick themselves back up and create their own positive futures.

Following a cost of living crisis and pandemic which impacted their education, early careers and wellbeing, there are now almost 1 million young people not currently in work, education or training, equivalent to the third largest city in the UK. At The Trust we know the devastating impact of unemployment on young people’s mental health, broader wellbeing, and confidence in achieving their aspirations in life.

Please help me to support The King's Trust by sponsoring my Palace Walk and sharing my page. Just a £20 donation could provide a young person with an experienced youth worker for an hour, building their confidence, resilience and motivation during this time.

'How can I give back to a charity that once helped me?' 💫

Wednesday 1st Oct
This is a question I've often asked myself since joining Charlotte Tilbury Beauty. I'm delighted to share that this weekend, I'll be taking part in The King's Trust's "Palace to Palace" challenge - a fundraising event supporting the charity's mission to empower young people to learn, earn, and thrive! 🙌

My first role at Charlotte Tilbury Beauty is proof of the charity's impact. Through their Get Hired initiative, I was able to interview without fear of recruitment bias or rejection due to my lack of corporate experience or "overqualification" (yes, that really happened!). 👩🏼‍💻💼 For many recent graduates - especially those without a Master's degree, internships or placements, or connections - these barriers can make the job market feel impossible to enter. And unfortunately, they're not the only obstacles young people face...

During my studies, I focused on making a difference in the student community through my active involvement in societies. I also completed a year abroad and held a range of part-time jobs from secondary school onwards, which expanded my skill set. While additional degrees, qualifications, or professional experiences may benefit certain career ambitions, I encourage employers to reflect on what requirements are necessary for "entry-level" positions, and to be more open-minded to candidates whose academic or occupational backgrounds may not follow a traditional path!

If this story resonates with you and you would like to support more young people (like me!) who are eager to build their careers or embark on entrepreneurial pursuits, please consider donating via my page. Your generosity is greatly appreciated - just £5 could go towards the travel costs for a young person attending an interview or workshop! 💸

Thank you so much for your support - if you would like to hear more about my experience, feel free to get in touch! 💖

P.S. I couldn't wait to try on our t-shirts we'll be wearing to represent our partnership, so here are a couple mirror selfies from our London Magic Office, featuring an employee quote about one of our Legendary products - an internal campaign I'm proud to have led!
