Walk the Talk 2026

I’m walking the talk to help end youth unemployment.

On Sunday 11th October I’m walking and talking 20 miles along the River Thames, from Hampton Court to Buckingham Palace, to raise money for The King's Trust.

At a time when 900,000 young people in the UK are out of work – enough to form the UK’s third largest city - The King’s Trust are committed to ending youth unemployment. Together we can help to build a brighter future for young people across the UK.

  • A donation of £100 could cover a young person’s travel costs for their first month of employment, bridging the gap until they receive their first payslip.

In the past 50 years, The King's Trust has helped over 1.4million young people. As The Trust celebrates its 50th anniversary, please consider supporting and donating to ensure their work can continue for at least another 50 years. Thank you.

Walking to End Youth Unemployment: Why I’m Taking Part in The King’s Trust Walk the Talk

Tuesday 4th Aug

Every young person deserves the chance to build a positive future. Yet too many talented, motivated young people face barriers to employment, education, and training through no fault of their own. That’s why I’m proud to be taking part in The King’s Trust Walk the Talk and raising money to help support young people across the UK as they take their first steps towards meaningful careers.

Why This Cause Matters

For many young people, finding employment is about much more than earning a wage. It’s about confidence, independence, purpose, and the opportunity to reach their full potential. Unfortunately, thousands of young people continue to face challenges that make entering the world of work difficult, from financial hardship and limited opportunities to mental health struggles and a lack of support networks.

The King’s Trust has been helping young people overcome these barriers for decades. Through mentoring, training programmes, employability support, and business start-up guidance, the charity gives young people the tools they need to develop skills, gain confidence, and secure sustainable employment.

Behind every statistic is a real person whose life can be transformed with the right support at the right time.

Why I’m Walking

I’m taking part in Walk the Talk because I believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances.

By putting one foot in front of the other, I hope to help raise awareness and vital funds for programmes that empower young people to realise their potential. While the challenge itself will be rewarding, the real achievement is knowing that every donation can contribute towards changing lives.

Whether it helps fund a training course, a mentoring session, interview preparation, or confidence-building support, every contribution can make a meaningful difference.

The Impact of Your Support

When young people are supported into education, employment, or self-employment, the benefits extend far beyond the individual. Families become stronger, communities become more resilient, and businesses gain access to talented and motivated people who are ready to contribute.

Your donation will help The King’s Trust continue its work supporting young people to:

  • Build confidence and self-belief
  • Develop workplace and employability skills
  • Access training and qualifications
  • Secure jobs and apprenticeships
  • Start their own businesses
  • Create brighter, more sustainable futures

Even a small donation can help The King’s Trust reach more young people who need support at a critical point in their lives.

How You Can Help

If you’re able to support my fundraising efforts, I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation, no matter the size, helps The King’s Trust continue its mission to tackle youth unemployment and create opportunities for young people to thrive.

If donating isn’t possible, sharing this post with friends, family, and colleagues is another fantastic way to help spread the message and raise awareness.

Together, we can help ensure that more young people have the confidence, skills, and opportunities they need to build successful futures.

Thank You

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and support such an important cause. Your generosity and encouragement mean a great deal, and I’m looking forward to taking on the challenge knowing that every step helps create opportunities for young people across the UK.

If you would like to donate, please visit my fundraising page and help make a difference today. Every step counts, and every donation changes lives. 🚶‍♀️💛
