Walking for Young People
On Sunday 11 October, join a select group of senior executives walking 20 miles from Hampton Court Palace to Buckingham Palace to raise money for The King's Trust to make a positive difference to young people across the UK.
As we mark The Trust’s 50th anniversary, we are celebrating five decades of empowering young people and, together, building strong foundations for the next 50 years.
Last year, 50 walkers, including CEOs, Directors, Managing Directors, and Partners from organisations such as Google, eBay, The Eden Project, The Fragrance Shop, and UBS took part.
This picturesque walk along the river Thames will lead you straight into the city of London. Along the way, three rest stops will provide food and drink to fuel the journey. Upon reaching the gates of Buckingham Palace, one final stop awaits, treating you all to tea, cake and a well-deserved sit down.
I chose to take part in Walk the Talk to raise funds for The King’s Trust and combine my love of walking with a meaningful cause. Sharing the experience with fellow CEOs and leaders made the day even more inspiring—the conversations were rich and insightful. Walking from Hampton Court Palace to Buckingham Palace reminded me just how beautiful London is. I’ve long supported The King’s Trust and deeply value its work with young people—helping them step out of their comfort zones and thrive in their chosen careers.

Participating in Walk the Talk last year was an inspiring and meaningful experience, chosen for its alignment with my values and the impact of The King’s Trust.
The sense of camaraderie among participants made the day truly special - we weren’t just walking, we were sharing a journey, supporting each other step by step. Along the way, I had the opportunity to connect with inspiring leaders from retail and consumer-focused businesses. These like-minded conversations, blending both business and personal reflections, gave the day added purpose - with the finishing line always in sight.
My connection to The King’s Trust is deeply personal; I’ve seen first-hand the incredible difference they make in communities. Walking for such a cherished cause left a lasting impression on me, and I’m proud to take part again this year.
- Sanjay Vadera MBE, CEO, The Fragrance Shop
