13.1 Miles at my 30
This past April, I hit a major milestone — the big 3-0. It’s probably the most intimidating pair of digits I’ve anticipated in the last decade. Stepping into full-fledged adulthood comes with its fair share of challenges (bills? taxes? help!), and let’s be honest — there’s no manual for any of it.
I’m incredibly lucky to have a circle of supportive friends and family who never hesitate to offer advice, and a partner who walks through life with me, side by side. But not every young person has that kind of support. That’s why, on Sunday 5th October, I’ll be taking part in The Palace Walk — a 13.1-mile journey around Windsor — to help young people build brighter futures.
The King's Trust runs tailored programmes and offers long-term support to equip young people with practical skills and emotional resilience. Their work helps young people get back on their feet and take control of their futures.
After the pandemic and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, nearly 1 million young people in the UK are not in work, education, or training — that’s equivalent to the population of the UK’s third-largest city. At The Trust, we see firsthand how unemployment affects young people’s mental health, wellbeing, and confidence in their ability to achieve their goals.
You can help make a difference. By sponsoring my Palace Walk or sharing my fundraising page, you’ll be supporting The King’s Trust in their mission. Just £20 could provide a young person with an hour of guidance from an experienced youth worker — helping them build confidence, resilience, and motivation when they need it most.
Let’s walk the walk — together.
Best Regards,
Izzy Azlee
