More than 900,000 young people are currently out of work. If we brought them all together, they would populate the UK's third biggest city. We must not let their potential go to waste.

The King’s Trust believe that every young person should have the chance to succeed, no matter their background or the challenges they are facing. Our mission is to break down barriers, open doors, and supporting young people to build the confidence and skills they need to find work.

Over the last 5 years, 3 in 4 young people supported by The Trust have moved into work, education or training.

According to The King’s Trust TK Maxx Youth Index 2025 research, 56% of young people are concerned they lack the skills, experience and qualifications to pursue the career they want, rising to 61% among those from low-income backgrounds. However, 70% of young people feel determined to achieve their goals in life and 77% said that having a job makes them feel as though they have stability in life.

Our courses, resources and other support help people aged 11 to 30 to develop essential life skills, get ready for work and access job opportunities. We support young people to find work because having a job or running a business can lead to a more stable, fulfilling life.

The King’s Trust is committed to being a bold voice for change, working together and for young people to help them to create a better future for themselves. By supporting young people today, the benefits for them, their communities and the wider economy will be felt for years to come.
