Another fantastic skill session discussing the importance of inclusive fundraising!
Huge thank you to our panel for their insights:
- Geoffrey Williams, Director of Culture and Sustainability, Howlett Brown
- Jack Hinchliffe, Commercial Account Director, AMD
- Louise Tredwen, HR Talent Partner, M&S
Expertly hosted, of course, by our very own MM Alumni Charlie Francis 🎓
As you continue to plan your initiatives for the rest of the year, keep the following learnings in mind:
🤝 Define your team values: Be clear about what your team stands for, and create clear expectations around respect and behaviour to create a safe space for everyone.
🔊 Being in the room isn't always enough: Notice who isn't taking part in the conversation, and find ways to include them so that their experience is heard.
🎯 Keep accessibility at the forefront of your event planning: Does your intended venue have sufficient accessibility standards? Are you making this event available for a range of audiences, and needs? (Top Tip – check out the 20th birthday resource for guidance on planning an accessible event!)
📝Inclusion is not an afterthought: Involve those with a range of lived experiences to inform your own blind spots. Your organisation's ERG groups are a great network to involve in your fundraising plans from stage one!
We'll see you again in a month's time for our next skill session, 'How to Stay Motivated and Build Resilience'!
