We hope you enjoyed the August sunshine as much as we did! Here are some of our August highlights...
AUGUST LEADERBOARD CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to our August top 10 fundraising teams. Where will your team be placed in the September leaderboard?
We know that some teams have used these last two months as a time to plan and prepare for their large-scale events later in the year. Remember to not lose sight of the power of personal fundraising and keep sharing your fundraising pages on LinkedIn and social media platforms.
For those quieter months, here are some top tips from JustGiving on how to boost your engagement.
MONTHLY MILLION MEGASTAR
We asked Chloe how she utilised the power of her networks to support her in reaching this milestone:
“The power of social media is one of the factors that enabled me to achieve my target in such a short space of time. I utilised my LinkedIn account specifically to target my business connections- this is an excellent platform, given that your followers activity appears on their connections’ pages. This means that your post gains many impressions (views).
I also reached out to my extremely generous relatives and friends. I am very fortunate to have a supportive network around me both internally at work and externally. It has been overwhelming to see how nurturing relationships built both in the workplace and with external contacts has benefitted the team and I so early in the project. I look forward to continuing to exceed my individual target and watching the team achieve similar results!”
These funds could leave a lasting legacy, contributing towards the specialist equipment that opens up a lifelong career for 13 young people on the margins of society.
Once you have reached your own milestone, make sure to share this with your supporters and challenge yourself further, increasing your target to make an even bigger impact

To celebrate reaching the halfway point of the Million Makers challenge, we announced that we would be bringing each of our teams together to celebrate their successes, reflect on the first half of the challenge, and get energised for the second half of the competition!
The Prince’s Trust will facilitate the sessions from the end of September - October.
We look forward to hearing about your journey so far and cannot wait to discuss the upcoming initiatives you have planned.
TEAM SPOTLIGHT CORNER

Team Make Amazing Happen, from CDW, came together for an in-person meeting to brainstorm fundraising ideas and how to engage senior leaders within CDW to invest into their ideas. They enjoyed a few hours of social activities which was a great bonding experience for the team. Why not organise a similar session yourself? This is a great opportunity to boost morale, make new friends, and find ways to elevate your fundraising ideas. |
In partnership with the Black professional network, Team Rockstar from BlackRock, held a football tournament on 1st August.
It was a fiercely competitive day, full of connectivity and community… and a greater turn out that anyone had expected! The team gave out prestigious awards such as the ‘Golden Boot’, runner-up medals and of course a winner’s trophy.
Throughout the day the cause was not forgotten, and the team raised a total of £1,150. Well done Team Rockstar!
Team Universal, from NBC Universal, have been utilising the Million Makers platform to create individual fundraising pages for each of their events. They have also taken advantage of the blog function, using the platform as a marketing and communications base for their Million Makers updates.
This means that supporters can read about their upcoming events and fundraising progress.
How could your team use the platform to share your progress and engage your supporters? Be creative and incorporate this into your comms plan
THE PRINCE'S TRUST
Friday 30 August, 11am-8pm, Battersea Power Station in London
We were delighted that our Black Pound Marketplace returned this summer at Battersea Power Station, supported by TikTok.
This was an opportunity to celebrate and support some of the young Black entrepreneurs of the future. Shoppers were able to buy an array of products from candles and homeware to skincare, sportswear, clothing, textiles and more.
