Me VS 10,000 steps

At a time when 900,000 young people in the UK are out of work – enough to form the UK’s third biggest city! The King’s Trust are committed to ending youth unemployment, and I’m doing my bit to support.

I am taking on the Future Steps challenge – completing 10,000 steps a day throughout February and raising vital funds to support young people across the UK.

A donation of just £12 could fund a call to The King's Trust helpline, enabling a young person facing adversity to gain the critical advice they need.

Every penny raised will help break down barriers, open doors and support young people to build the confidence and skills they need to find work. Please consider donating to my page.

Thank you.

My Updates

Why am i doing this!

Saturday 7th Feb
Its always a good thing to give such a worthy cause as The King's Trust a donation, and I've previously taken part in this challenge and reviewed CVs, but this year I wanted to do more. I really wanted all those young people to feel a greater sense of the awareness the wider community have of thier situation and for them to feel motivated by the power of what can be achieved when people come together with a common purpose. It certainly takes a bit of extra oomph on a wet and windy early morning to walk into work instead of grabbing those car keys, but if I can give just one young person some hope that they can reach for thier full potential and believe in themselves, then getting battered by the elements and high tides is worth every step! What i hadn't anticipated is how much feel-good I'd get myself. Walking alone, or in the company of others, is soul-enriching. With all that goes with a very busy work, and home life, self care and looking after my mental health can take a back seat. Walking is huge! time to think, be close to nature, and allow thoughts to drift in and out. Have a purpose in starting and reaching a destination. When I upload my steps at the end of another busy day, I truly hope that some young person will feel just a bit more valued, motivated and empowered to achieve thier goals, than they did the day before. Good luck to All xxx
