I'm cycling miles to change young lives from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle

On Sunday 6th October, I will be taking part in Palace to Palace and cycling 45 or 90 miles from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle and raising fund for the King’s Trust.

The King's Trust has tailored programmes and provides long-term support give young people the practical skills and emotional resilience to pick themselves back up and create their own positive futures.

The recent Class of Covid report reveals almost half of young people in the UK (49%) feel anxious about their future on a daily basis, with 59% agreeing it feels frightening for their generation. Findings suggest the impact of the pandemic and now a cost-of-living crisis is taking its toll on young people, as 45% agree anxiety around recent political and economic events affects them daily. More than a third (35%) feel their life is spiralling out of control, and for those from lower income backgrounds, this increases to 41%.

Please help me to support The King's Trust by sponsoring my Palace to Palace cycle ride and sharing my page. Just a £20 donation could provide a young person with an experienced youth worker for an hour, building their confidence, resilience and motivation during this time.

Taking on the challenge!

Tuesday 13th Aug
"But it's not a challenge for you is it ?" people who know me will probably say, and it's genuine question or statement because I am a cyclist. I do cycle large distances on a regular basis.  Just this weekend I rode the mountain bike 60 miles on Saturday morning and another 25 on Sunday, but the challenge isn't the ride itself for me it's the challenge of raising money for the Kings Trust.

I did feel a little awkward asking for sponsorship to do something I enjoy but it makes more sense to use something I enjoy to raise money for a serious cause. This way it's more about the cause and fund raising than anything.

If anyone is thinking of either sponsoring me or anyone else doing the Palace to Palace or you're thinking of doing the ride itself - Do it. The sense of achievement afterwards is great....and thats just the sponsorship part.

If you're thinking "I cant ride 45 or 90 miles" you're wrong ! What you are capable of is amaizing. If you can ride 10 miles you can ride 20, if you can ride 20 you can ride 45 or 100 it is purely about nutrition (food and drink) as you ride and about mind over matter.

Dont under estimate how much the enjoyment and adrenalin will help you get through it.

The Palace to Palace is a challenge....but coming back from adversity, difficulties in life, taking a chance and making a success of it is a real challenge and the Kings Trust will help young people with those challenges.

Raising money for the Kings Trust is my challenge!!

I hope you can help.
